When death occurs, there are many decisions that must be made in a short amount of time, which can be emotionally and financially stressful. By pre-planning your funeral arrangements, many of these tough decisions can be made thoughtfully and wisely in advance to ensure your final wishes are carried out as desired.
Before selecting cemetery space, you must decide if you will have a traditional funeral or if you are choosing cremation. This will help you choose the best cemetery space for your funeral arrangements. Pre-planning and purchasing cemetery space in advance also locks in today’s cost.
For those choosing a traditional funeral with ground burial, any of the ground spaces within the gardens listed below can be selected. Purchase of a traditional ground space does not include the monument/marker costs.
For those choosing a traditional funeral with above-ground entombment, the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum offers several different crypt styles, both indoor & outdoor. A mausoleum crypt purchase includes 1 bronze plaque and 1 flower vase. For families that wish to pre-plan a family estate, the cemetery also offers private mausoleums. These mini-mausoleums are custom designed for each family and are placed in the Private Family Estate section of the cemetery.

Cremation pre-planning offers many unique options, as well as traditional inurnment options. The biggest decision to make before selecting cemetery space is whether you prefer burial or above-ground inurnment.
For burial of cremated remains, any of the ground spaces within the gardens listed below can be selected. Purchase of a traditional ground space does not include the monument/marker costs. Dorchester Memory Gardens also features 2 Reflection Gardens for burial of cremated remains. These spaces include the urn vault that is required for burial of cremains and a 1’x 1’ American Black granite marker.
For above-ground inurnment of cremated remains, the cemetery offers several different niche spaces within the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum and the Blessed Mother Catholic Garden Columbarium.

For families that wish to create a more personalized memorial for above-ground inurnment of cremated remains, the cemetery offers many unique private cremation right options to include: cremation benches, pedestals, fountains, birdbaths and customized mini columbarium.
After the cemetery space you have chosen is paid-in-full, a monument/marker can then be selected. There are different requirements for the different ground burial options within the cemetery gardens. All families wishing to order a monument must first obtain approval from the cemetery office. There are installation and perpetual care fees associated with monument/marker installations that must be paid in advance also.

For mausoleum crypts, a bronze plaque and a bronze flower vase will be ordered and installed at no extra charge. For columbarium niches and mausoleum niches, a bronze plaque will be ordered and installed at no extra charge.
Opening & closing costs can only be paid after a death has occurred. These costs are based on the type of cemetery space to be used and the day of the funeral service.
